  • Pear Tree Class Assembly

    Fri 26 Feb 2016
Pear Tree class delighted us with their assembly on the afternoon of 26th February on the theme of The Great Fire of London. We learnt how the fire started in Pudding Lane and watched as the children recreated the spreading flames through the medium of dance. The assembly ended with the children singing the traditional song 'London's Burning' in two parts.
  • Dutch Afternoon

    Wed 24 Feb 2016

On the afternoon of Wednesday 24th February we celebrated having our 3 visitors from Holland by learning about Dutch culture and playing some traditional Dutch games - with a very popular one involving cake! Children in each phase worked with one of our students who have spent the last half term in school - we hope they have enjoyed their time at Millfield as much as we have enjoyed their input into our cultural development.

Sadly we said goodbye to our three visitors from Holland on 1st March as their placement at Millfield came to an end. We have greatly enjoyed having the students with us for the last 9 weeks and the children have benefitted from their input. They have asked me to pass on their thanks for the warm welcome they received from the children, staff and parents and have said they have enjoyed being part of Millfield - albeit for only a short time. Although sad to leave, I'm sure they are also looking forward to returning home.

  • County Champions!

    Wed 03 Feb 2016
We are the champions! Great news - not only did our children do us proud in the Cross Country finals with a 4th place in the Year 5 race and a 19th and 20th place in the Year 4 race, but today we became the County Tag Rugby Champions, beating schools who have a proven track record of winning in previous years. The teams played brilliantly with great team spirit. Now we are the county champions for both football and rugby, Millfield has become a sporting force to be reckoned with. Well done to the children - we are so proud of you!
