The Nurtured Heart Approach® is followed throughout the school and is a more than just a way of parenting or creating strategies for behaviour management. Created by Howard Glasser in 1992, the Nurture Heart Approach® (NHA) is now being successfully introduced to families, classrooms, foster care, health care professionals, social workers and criminal justice organizations that are seeking successful, early intervention and manageable techniques.
NHA embraces 3 stands which are the core means of transforming children.
The strategies that are given through NHA assist children in further developing their self-regulation and has been found effective with children of all ages. Its main focus is to transform the way the child perceives themselves, their caregivers and the world around them. The child will experience and understand that they will receive endless amounts of praise, energy, recognition and reward through the positive behaviour they display and this supports the child to build a positive portfolio of themselves, which is called “inner wealth”.
If you would like more information on this or anything else to do with the nurture team, then please don’t hesitate to speak to Alison or Hannah.
It is the aim of the nurture team to provide informal sessions about the Nurtured Heart Approach® in the near future.
If this is of interest to you, please let one of the team know.
