How we can support your child

The Well-Being Team provide individual/group sessions  for children who have been referred by the teacher or the parent/carer. We always seek parental consent before any sessions take place. The sessions are confidential and take place during school hours at a time which doesn’t interfere with core subjects.

The team are readily available during transition times, whether this is moving to a new class, changing teachers, joining from preschool, nursery or another school, lunchtimes and play times. They provide support to the parents and children and do regular ‘check-ins’ to ensure the child/children are happy and settling in well.

They provide lots of support through their individual and group sessions such as , Forest Schools, Art Therapy, Lego Therapy, Draw and Talk Therapy, Playground support, Friendship groups, In class support, ‘Time to Talk’ Sessions and ‘That’s Me’ group sessions.

One of the team are always on the playground in the mornings, break times, lunch times or in the Windmill room to offer advice and support with things such as ,behaviour, restorative issues, to develop friendships and encourage appropriate play.

They are also there to provide TLC which may include a drink, (hot chocolate in the cold weather) and a biscuit!
