Keep up to date with all the news happening in school at the moment.
There was such excitement yesterday morning when Father Christmas arrived on his sleigh. It was so cold and windy that we arranged a welcome party of Year 1 children to greet him from the relative shelter of the glass corridor - but Year 6 weren't put off by the cold, as once given permission, rushed out onto the playground to give him a rousing welcome. Father Christmas spent a busy day spending time in each class giving out presents to every child (providing they had been good of course). We would like to thank Father Christmas for finding time in his busy schedule to visit us and to the Friends of Millfield for ensuring he had all the presents to deliver in good time!
We all had a great time playing games and dancing at the Christmas Discos yesterday afternoon. Children in Early Phase were the first to show their moves and play fast moving games. They were delighted to receive a sword balloon as a gift at the end (hope you enjoyed them too)! Children in Middle Phase had a great time dancing and there was mass hilarity at covering their teachers in toilet roll as part of one of their games. They were delighted with the medals they received for winning various games. Not to be left out, children in Upper Phase had the after school slot and there was fierce competition during the limbo contest. As expected, they knew all the latest songs and associated dance moves, but it is still the old favourites which get the greatest participation with everyone doing the' Hokey Cokey'. The snow machine was a particular favourite with all 3 phases. I would like to thank the staff for their supervision (and participation) and the Friends of Millfield for arranging such a fun event. I t was clear to see how much the children all enjoyed it!
