GIVING EVERY CHILD THE CHANCE TO SUCCEED
'This School continues to be Good' -Ofsted November 2017

Awards

How will my child be taught remotely?

We use a combination of the following approaches to teach pupils remotely:

  • Recorded teaching input through audio and video recordings made by school staff, Read Write inc (for phonics) and Oak National Academy
  • Slide presentations to deliver teaching content and explain activities to be completed
  • Live teaching/meet up sessions via zoom especially for small groups and 1:1 sessions
  • Larger group zoom meet ups for children to remain in social contact - each meeting has a particular theme for discussion. These take place weekly.
  • Printed paper packs of the online lesson content and activities if requested by parents due to lack of internet access
  • Reading books that children have at home provided by school
  • Our main online learning platform is Google Classroom where assignments include instructions, resources for teaching input and resources needed to complete the learning activities to be submitted. These platforms are further supported by Active Learn and Timestables Rockstars
  • Commercially available websites supporting the teaching of specific subjects or areas, including video clips or sequences
  • Daily challenges focusing on life skills and physical activities
  • Story telling sessions - audio and video recordings
  • Long-term project work and/or internet research activities (these are limited in number)
