A warm welcome!
Please read below to discover more about our recent learning.
In Geography, we will be moving onto studying erosion after our unit about Admiral Nelson has come to a close. We have very much enjoyed this unit and successfully have built on our existing chronology in History.
In Science, we are discovering more about teeth and will be looking closely at the digestive system this half term. We have already completed a tooth decay experiment and have another to complete before Easter.
In English, we are studying the Iron Man as inspiration for our writing unit. Our main writing outcome will be a mystery narrative. However, we will also be writing character descriptions, a short news bulletin, letters of advice, a diary entry, a menu AND a
logbook entry as a part of this unit!
In Maths, we are about to complete our fractions unit. The children have shown great potential when working with fractions and are confident making conversions with increasing fluency. We will move onto decimals before Easter.
Please could I remind all parents to encourage their children to log into TTRS online as much as possible. We practice every day in school however, more practice the better! Year 4 children must complete a times tables test in June and I would love for the whole class to undertake this with as much confidence as possible.
PE will be on Mondays and Fridays this half term.
Please ensure your child wears PE kit on this days:
plain white t-shirt, navy or black shorts, white socks and sports trainers or plimsolls.
If it is cold, a plain navy sweatshirt and tracksuit bottoms, please. No logos on clothing, please.
Long hair should be tied back, and earrings out if possible. If not, please provide tape.
Please feel free to come and have a chat with me on the playground before or after school if you have a query or question.
Best,
Mrs Harvey
